City Acapulco

While Acapulco is now recognized as one of the biggest entertainment centers in the world, the port played an important role in the history of it. So much so that it is considered a cornerstone of international trade, from times as remote as the century XVI.

For 250 years, the Spanish empire’s wealth trafficked in Asia in large fleets that sailed the Pacific.

This created the Fort of San Diego in 1616, to care for the ships carrying silver and precious stones from the pirates who roamed the area.

Acapulco a few years later gained fame as the gathering Holiwoodense and the rich and famous from around the world.
